Local Play Kicking into High Gear
As the calendar flips to May, the days are getting longer, temperatures are warming and the number of rounds being played on courses is increasing. Thanks to a large ridge of high pressure that stayed over the area for several days in mid to late April, the region has already experienced a much welcomed taste of June like weather. In fact, there were several days in a row with barely a cloud in the sky, and high temperatures in the 70’s and 80’s away from the coast.
Despite a chilly start to the month of May, temperatures will rebound to near or slightly above normal over the course of the month. However, it is still Springtime, and pesky areas of low pressure may impact play occasionally. Just make sure to check out Mygolfweather.com before heading out to your favorite course.
Featured Course of the Month:
Town & Country Golf Links
One of South Jersey’s top golfing destinations is Town & Country Golf Links located in Woodstown. Featuring two distinct course layouts for the front and back nine, the course provides for generous play on the front nine, and really tests a golfer shot making ability on the back nine. Regardless of the difficulty all holes offer unique challenges. All the while golfers can take in the picturesque surroundings while moving about the course. After your round, be sure to stop by their pro shop or their on site restaurant, The Rushes.

Featured Golf Tip of the Month:
Beat the Wind!
Avoid the temptation of fighting the wind...especially the instinctive urge to just swing hard. Swinging hard just increases the likelihood of making mistakes...and will cause any problems in your game to become amplified. Just take a deep breath, and hit the ball solidly as this will allow the ball to cut through the wind. Also be sure to keep the ball low as it will be less impacted by the breezes.
